Do you work with businesses in Egypt?
Yes. Flip Retail is based in Jaipur, India, and works with Egypt businesses remotely. We have no office in Egypt; discovery happens on video calls, you get working software every two weeks, and the engineers who write the code are on the calls.
Can a custom ERP handle VAT and e-invoicing in Egypt?
Yes. Invoicing is built for Egypt's VAT (standard rate 14%). B2B e-invoicing through the Egyptian Tax Authority's clearance platform has been mandatory for all VAT-registered taxpayers since 2023, after phases that began in November 2020; only e-invoices support deductible costs and input VAT. The B2C e-receipt system has been rolled out to taxpayers in successive mandatory waves since July 2022. A custom ERP connects to the ETA e-invoice system through its official API or an accredited provider, and we confirm the current requirements in discovery.
How do you handle PDPL?
With its Executive Regulations now issued, controllers and processors need a licence or permit from the Personal Data Protection Centre (PDPC) and must appoint a registered DPO, and transfers abroad need equivalent protection plus a PDPC licence unless an exception such as explicit consent applies. You choose where the system is hosted, access is role-based, and we work on test or masked data during development wherever possible.
Can you migrate us from Odoo, Daftra or SAP Business One?
Yes. Masters, ledgers, stock items and opening balances move across and are reconciled with your accountant before cutover, ideally at a year-end or quarter-end.
Are there AI rules we need to follow in Egypt?
No AI-specific statute; the Egyptian Charter for Responsible AI (2023) and the National AI Strategy (second edition, 2025-2030) give non-binding guidance, and AI processing personal data is subject to the PDPL. We design AI agents with logging, human oversight and clear disclosure from the start, which covers most current requirements.
