Privacy policy

What happens to the personal data you share through this website. Short version: we use it only to reply to you, and we measure visits with Google Analytics, which you can switch off.

Who we are

This website is run by Flip Retail, a brand of Surana SPG, B-2, B203 Brij Villa, Rajendra Marg, Bapu Nagar, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302015, India. We decide how the personal data described here is used, which makes us the data fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the controller under the EU and UK GDPR.

What we collect and why

  • Enquiries. The contact form does not send anything to us by itself. It opens your own email app with your name, email address, phone number if you give one, the topic, your message and the page you were on, ready for you to send. If you send it, or email, call or message us on WhatsApp, we receive what you choose to share. We use it only to reply, to discuss and quote for the work you asked about, and to keep a record of that conversation.
  • Server logs. Like any website, our web server records technical details of each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser type. We use them to keep the site secure and working.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages lead to enquiries. It records the pages you view, how you arrived (for example from a search engine or a link), your approximate location (country and city, worked out from your IP address, which Google Analytics does not store), your device and browser type, and actions such as clicking our email, phone or WhatsApp links or sending the contact form. It never receives what you type into the form. It sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_GKNT3KNFH2, that last up to two years and let it recognise a returning browser. In the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland these cookies are set only if you accept them; without them Google receives only a cookieless signal that a page was viewed, with no identifier. Anyone can switch them off with Cookie settings at the foot of each page, or block Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out browser add-on.

We do not use advertising cookies or trackers, and the fonts on this site are served from our own server. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Legal basis

India (DPDP Act): you give us your details voluntarily for a specified purpose, getting a reply, and we use them only for that purpose. EU and UK (GDPR): we rely on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and on our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries and keeping this site secure. Elsewhere we rely on the equivalent grounds in local law.

Analytics: your consent in the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, which you can withdraw at any time with Cookie settings. Elsewhere, our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, which you can object to the same way.

Who else sees it

  • The services that carry messages: our email provider (Google, for Gmail) and, if you contact us there, WhatsApp (Meta).
  • The company that hosts this website, which stores the server logs on our behalf.
  • Google, which runs Google Analytics for us as our processor.
  • Professional advisers or public authorities, only where the law requires it.

Where it is handled

We are based in India, so we handle enquiries in India. Our email, hosting and analytics providers may process data in other countries, including the United States, under their own safeguards.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries are kept while we are discussing work with you. If you become a client, correspondence is kept for the length of the engagement and then for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep business records. Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted once they are no longer needed to reply or follow up, or sooner if you ask.
  • Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
  • Analytics data is kept in Google Analytics for up to 14 months, then deleted automatically. The cookies expire after two years, or as soon as you switch them off.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to restrict processing, to receive your data in a portable format, or (in India) to nominate someone to exercise your rights. Write to flip.retail1@gmail.com; we reply within one month.

If you are not satisfied, you can complain to your data-protection authority, for example the Data Protection Board of India, the data-protection authority in your EU country, the UK Information Commissioner's Office, or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. US residents can contact their state attorney general. We would appreciate the chance to resolve it first.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Enquiries are seen only by the people who handle them, and client systems we build follow the access, logging and hosting rules agreed in each contract.

Children

This website is for businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal data.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date below.
