Business in Bhilai
Rails for Indian Railways have long rolled out of the Bhilai Steel Plant, and the Soviet-assisted plant remains the town's economic core. Around it work maintenance and labour contractors, fabrication shops, foundries and rolling mills at Kumhari, cement works at Jamul and a power plant jointly run by NTPC and SAIL, while engineering colleges, IIT Bhilai and coaching institutes make education a second pillar alongside neighbouring Durg.
Where software helps: Contractors supplying manpower, maintenance and fabrication to the steel plant must handle work-order-wise billing, daily labour attendance, statutory wage and PF compliance, and material gate passes for each job.
