Business in Moradabad
Brass gave Moradabad the name Pital Nagri, and metal handicrafts remain its economic backbone. Thousands of export units and workshops produce lamps, planters, tableware, decor and religious items in brass, iron, aluminium and glass for retailers in North America and Europe, with work split between casting, engraving, polishing, plating and lacquering shops. The city also has a dedicated handicrafts SEZ at Pakbara.
Where software helps: Metal-handicraft exporters juggle buyer samples, multi-stage job-work across many small workshops, and container-wise packing lists and labels for overseas retailers, with shipment dates that cannot slip.
