Business in Wrocław
LG Energy Solution's battery plant at Biskupice Podgórne, one of the largest in Europe, sits just south-west of Wrocław, and Toyota, Mercedes-Benz and their suppliers build engines and components in the special economic zones around the region. Nokia runs a large R&D centre in the city, and shared-service centres, software firms and warehouses for retailers and e-commerce operators make up much of the rest.
Also known as Wroclaw.
Where software helps: Battery and automotive suppliers around Wrocław are preparing for the EU Battery Regulation's due-diligence and battery-passport rules, which require tracking material origin, carbon data and batches across the supply chain.
