Business in Łódź
Nineteenth-century cotton mills made Łódź the centre of Polish textiles, and some, such as the Manufaktura complex, now house shops and offices. Its position where the A1 and A2 motorways cross has drawn large distribution centres, BSH and Whirlpool make household appliances, Rossmann runs its Polish chain from the city, and shared-service centres such as Infosys and Fujitsu employ thousands.
Also known as Lodz.
Where software helps: Apparel makers and distributors around Łódź handle small-batch production, size-and-colour stock and wholesale orders across Poland and Germany, while issuing every domestic invoice through the KSeF system.
