Trade sits at the centre of Delhi's private economy: wholesale markets such as Chandni Chowk, Sadar Bazaar, Khari Baoli and Kashmere Gate distribute textiles, spices, dry fruits, hardware and auto parts to retailers across north India. Garment exporters in Okhla, small manufacturers in Bawana, Narela and Mayapuri, and a large base of consultancies, law firms, hospitals and corporate offices make up much of the rest.
