Business in Buenos Aires
Grain exporters, agribusiness groups and the Bolsa de Cereales manage much of Argentina's soy, maize and wheat trade from offices in the city, even though the crops leave through river ports upstream. Mercado Libre was founded here, software and services exports employ thousands of developers, and film, advertising and publishing are long-standing trades. Industrial suburbs in the conurbano make food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals and auto parts.
Also known as CABA, Capital Federal and Bs As.
Where software helps: Businesses issue ARCA electronic invoices (Factura A, B or C), reprice lists often as inflation shifts and keep parallel records in pesos and dollars for imported inputs and exports.
