Business in Rosario
Soybean crushing plants operated by Cargill, Bunge, COFCO, Molinos Agro and others line the Paraná River at San Lorenzo, Puerto General San Martín and Timbúes, making the Gran Rosario port complex the outlet for most of Argentina's soy meal and oil. The Rosario Board of Trade publishes the country's reference grain prices, General Motors builds cars in nearby Alvear, and farm-machinery makers dot the region.
Also known as Gran Rosario.
Where software helps: Grain brokers, cooperatives and crushers manage truck turns at port terminals, quality and moisture discounts on each electronic waybill (carta de porte) and contracts priced against Rosario board quotes.
