Business in Bucharest
IT outsourcing and shared-service centres for groups such as Oracle, Amazon and Ericsson employ a large engineering workforce in Bucharest, much of it in office districts stretching north to Pipera. OMV Petrom, BCR and BRD Groupe Société Générale have their head offices in the capital, eMAG runs Romania's largest online store, and warehouses line the A1 motorway to the west.
Also known as București and Bucuresti.
Where software helps: Romania's RO e-Factura system requires every B2B invoice to be filed electronically, and e-Transport tracking covers many goods movements, so Bucharest firms need ERP and billing linked directly to both.
