Do you build custom ERP and AI software for businesses in Kampala?
Yes, remotely. Flip Retail is a software studio in Jaipur, India, with no office in Kampala; discovery happens on video calls and you get working software every two weeks.
How do time zones work between Kampala and Jaipur?
Jaipur is 2 h 30 min ahead of Kampala all year. A 09:00 start there is 11:30 in Jaipur. Standard 09:00–18:00 office days overlap by 6 h 30 min, which is enough for live calls, demos and same-day answers.
Can a custom ERP handle VAT and e-invoicing in Uganda?
Yes. Invoicing is built for Uganda's VAT (standard rate 18%). On e-invoicing: All VAT-registered taxpayers must issue EFRIS e-invoices carrying a Fiscal Document Number, verification code and QR code, and businesses in designated sectors (such as manufacturing, construction, hospitality, ICT, professional services, real estate and fuel) must issue EFRIS e-receipts even if not VAT-registered. ERPs can connect system-to-system through the URA API, with desktop, mobile, web-portal and EFD device options for smaller users. A custom ERP connects to EFRIS through its official API or an accredited provider, and we confirm the current requirements in discovery.
Where will our data be stored, and what about DPPA 2019?
You choose: your own cloud account in a region that suits you, or your own servers. Access inside the system is role-based, and during development we work on test or masked data wherever possible. In force with the Personal Data Protection Office (PDPO, under NITA-U) as regulator: all data collectors, controllers and processors, including foreign entities processing Ugandans' data, must register with the PDPO, and transfers abroad need adequate protection in the destination or the data subject's consent (no strict localisation rule).
Can you migrate us from QuickBooks, Sage or TallyPrime?
Yes. Masters, ledgers, stock and opening balances move across and are reconciled with your accountant before cutover, ideally at a year-end or quarter-end.
Can your AI agents talk to customers in English, Luganda and Swahili?
For English and Swahili, yes: current language models handle them well, including mixed-language messages. Support for Luganda is more limited, so we test with real customer messages before committing to it, and route anything the agent is unsure about to your team.
What would a first project look like for a distribution business?
Usually one module that fixes the most expensive problem first. For wholesale & distribution that is often multi-warehouse inventory and price lists, schemes & discounts. It goes live early, and the rest of the system follows in two-week increments while your team is already using it.
