Can a custom ERP handle VAT and e-invoicing in Tanzania?
Yes. Invoicing is built for Tanzania's VAT (standard rate 18%). On e-invoicing: Receipts and invoices must come from TRA-approved Electronic Fiscal Devices or the software-based Virtual Fiscal Device (VFD), which report in real time to TRA's EFDMS and print a verification code and QR code. This applies to all VAT-registered traders and to non-VAT traders above TRA turnover thresholds. A custom ERP connects to TRA EFD/VFD through its official API or an accredited provider, and we confirm the current requirements in discovery.
