Business in Ajman
Dhows are still built by hand in yards along Ajman's creek, but the emirate's economy now rests on small manufacturers and traders. Ajman Free Zone licenses thousands of companies making furniture, plastics, steel products, garments and foodstuffs, the Al Jurf industrial areas house workshops serving construction, and lower rents than in Dubai and Sharjah draw both residents and new businesses.
Where software helps: Small free-zone traders and workshops often run with a handful of staff, needing straightforward VAT-compliant invoicing, stock control and job costing for custom fabrication orders without the overhead of a large ERP.
