Natural gas from fields off Trinidad's coasts supplies LNG trains at Point Fortin and ammonia and methanol plants at Point Lisas, and the producers and service companies behind them, including bp and Shell, keep offices in the capital. Republic Bank and other regional banks and insurers are headquartered here, Angostura makes its bitters and rum in Laventille, and distributors import and sell food and consumer goods across the Caribbean.
